You are invited to join in the next Boots N’ All wilderness adventure – a camping trip to the Bay of Fires area, but this year, to the northern end, and stretching a bit further north into the Mt. William National Park. Chris Langerak is your leader. The trip is a laid back exploration of the Mt. William end of the coast, with likely visits to Eddystone Pt (Larapuna), Anson’s Bay and Stumpy’s Bay, and a day walk to the dizzying heights of Mt. William (actually just 200 metres above sea level and less than 2 km each way). If you aren’t much of a walker, there will be plenty of opportunity to sit around and enjoy the scenery while others do the walking.
This is a camping trip, but you won’t need to carry your tent all day with camping taking place at designated coastal camping areas. You’ll need to discuss with the leader about tents and sharing tents, and will need to bring food and other camping necessities such as a sleeping bag! While this trip was originally rated “medium”, you can consider it easy because you can opt out of anything you think is too challenging for you. Children would cope well (if families are well organised for tent camping).

The departure time is 8:30 am on Saturday from the Door of Hope Church car park, Launceston. Other meeting places by arrangement with leader. If you would like to arrange to meet the group at these places or elsewhere, please arrange with the leader, and please be at any meeting place 5 minutes ahead of the listed time.
The leader should always be notified of any other people you intend to bring along, and you should always contact the walk leader if intending to participate in a particular Boots N’ All walk.
To access this area from northern Tasmania:
From Launceston, take the Tasman Highway through Waverley to Scottsdale (66km), and turn right to continue to Derby (24 km). After another 11 km, turn left into Gladstone Rd. and continue through Herrick and Pioneer to Gladstone (about 26km) before turning right into North Anson’s Rd. After 6 km, you will reach the junction of Musselroe Rd. Turning left will take you to the Mt. William area, but if you turn right, and about 18 km will take you to the Eddystone Pt. junction. The Mt. William road is about 10 km from the start of Musselroe Rd, with a further 5 km or so to the car park. From the Mt. William road junction on Musselroe Rd, it is about 8 km to the first Stumpy’s Bay camping area via Forestier Kangaroo Drive.
Warnings:
Water! There is no fresh drinking water at the campsite, so please bring along a plentiful supply in sturdy containers for your camping and walking needs (4 litres or more per person per day suggested).

Prepare for a variety of weather conditions from warm and sunny (hat, sunscreen etc) to cold, wet and windy. Sturdy sneakers or light walking boots would be useful.
